We all have a favourite piece in our wardrobe, at least I do, and it usually is seasonal…On a normal day I prefer to wear black, mainly because it looks sort of professional:)

Last autumn I watched this series called “miss Fishers murder mysteries”, an Australian television drama series.

“Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries revolves around the personal and professional life of Phryne Fisher, a glamorous private detective in 1920s Melbourne.” Besides her inspiring and adventurous life I was captured – again- by the fashion of the 20ies, I think my preferred period at all.

Anyhow, I was so inspired by her way of dressing (or the good job of the costume designer did), that I decided to make a coat of my own. I had a look at my fabric box and discovered this fabric I couldn’t find any use so far, drew a pattern and sewed this coat to wear it the next day. Since then, i am literally wearing that piece every day, over a dress, skirt, even trousers, underneath my winter coat, functioning as sort of a wind stopper:)

I am in love with a coat!
